Carmichael Lynch Spong Named Overall Leader in Corporate Social Responsibility by PR News

Carmichael Lynch Spong won the Overall Leader in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Practices award from PR News at yesterday’s award luncheon held at The National Press Club in Washington, D.C. Tracy Pleschourt, who serves as director of sustainability for Carmichael Lynch Spong as well as Carmichael Lynch, was named CSR Executive of the Year.

“We are thrilled to be recognized as a leader in corporate social responsibility ─ an area we know is vital to the continued success of the agency,” says Douglas K. Spong, APR, president of Carmichael Lynch Spong. “We are very proud of Tracy and her efforts as director of sustainability, and we have her to thank for many of the initiatives currently in place.”

The firm has earned the title as the greenest agency in America with its LEED-qualified work space; utilization of 100-percent wind-sourced power; a Green Team, Green Blog and Cultural Advisory Board; a robust recycling program; an employee volunteer program allowing employees to prepare and serve meals at a local homeless shelter and commuter incentives to reduce the environmental impact of its employees combined 5,000 mile daily commute to work.

The CSR Awards program is the industry’s top competition recognizing professionals and companies that successfully demonstrate how altruism, philanthropy and employee commitment to “do good” can make an impact on a community, key stakeholders and a company’s bottom line.
