Hemosphere, Inc. Names Patrick Wethington New CEO
Hemosphere, Inc., a medical technology company, announced that Patrick Wethington will succeed Doris Engibous as CEO, effective immediately.
After nearly six years as CEO, Engibous has stepped down.
Ed Spencer, a board member, said Wethington brings experience and a skill set to build on her achievements.
He said Engibous led the company through FDA clearance and early commercialization of its HeRO Vascular Access Device.
"We will benefit from [Wethington’s] extensive medical device background, commercialization experience and demonstrated leadership qualities," Spencer said.
Wethington, whose background includes more than 15 years in marketing and sales, said he is looking forward to leveraging his experience and background to further establish the HeRO device as a standard of care for maintaining long-term access for hemodialysis patients with venous outflow obstruction.
The company also announced that Ed Spencer of Affinity Capital Management was appointed lead director for Hemosphere's board after serving for two years.
