Southwest Airlines Partners with Malt-O-Meal to Help Celebrate

Minneapolis based Malt-O-Meal Company, the nation’s largest family owned cereal company, has been invited by Southwest Airlines to help celebrate its first year of service to the Twin Cities.

Malt-O-Meal will hand out samples of its most popular ready-to-eat cereal brands to Southwest Airlines customers at the celebration, to be held Thursday, March 4, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Humphrey Terminal.

“Southwest Airlines is thrilled to partner with Malt-O-Meal to help celebrate our one-year anniversary serving Minneapolis/St. Paul,” said Southwest Spokesperson Chris Mainz. “We LUV to do fun things for our Customers, and we’re grateful that Malt-O-Meal is joining in the festivities by giving away free samples to our Customers.”

After 38 years of service, Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) is the nation's largest carrier in terms of originating domestic passengers boarded, currently serving 68 cities in 35 states. Based in Dallas, Southwest currently operates more than 3,100 flights a day and has nearly 35,000 employees system wide. Southwest began flying into Minneapolis/St. Paul’s Humphrey Terminal on March 8, 2009.

Founded in 1919, Minneapolis-based Malt-O-Meal Company produces 25 branded ready-to-eat cereals, three varieties of Malt-O-Meal Hot Wheat cereal, and a full line of oatmeal products. In addition to the company’s production facilities in Minnesota, Utah, Iowa and North Carolina, Malt-O-Meal operates distribution centers in Minnesota, Missouri, Utah, Tennessee and Pennsylvania.
