Made in Minnesota: Zipping included

Minneapolis-based Spring Finn & Co. keeps its manufacturing local

Need something satisfyingly rugged to hold your pens, documents, and e-reader? Twelve inches across, this sturdy zipped pouch (dubbed "The Cartographer") has plenty of space, is made of waxed canvas, and features a front pocket cut from vegetable-tanned leather. No need to worry about wear and tear here, just a beautiful patina for the canvas to develop over time. Selling for about $60, the pouch is handcrafted not in Asia or South America, but in small workshops in the Twin Cities by Spring Finn & Co., based in Minneapolis and founded by designer Talin Spring in 2010. Its bags and leather accessories can be found at and at such unusual venues as NorthernGrade (the roving pop-up men's market) and the Mill City Farmers Market.
