More details about the new social enterprise organization will be announced during a Nov. 12 event
A new organization for social entrepreneurs in Minnesota recently revealed its headquarters. The Minnesota Social Impact Center will be located in the North Loop neighborhood in Minneapolis -- an up-and-coming area for new and emerging businesses in the Twin Cities.
The 2,000-square-foot office at 250 Third Ave. N will be home to social enterprise events, mentorship programs, and also serve as a co-working space. Details about the center’s specific plans will be announced during the organization’s launch event on Nov. 12 at Macalester College.
“There’s so much interest in bringing people together,” said Terri Barreiro, board chair. “Thanks to a grant from the Minneapolis Foundation, we’re opening ahead of schedule. They made it possible for us to start bringing the community together now, rather than waiting until sometime next year.”
Center leaders say that the North Loop neighborhood location fits with the vibe of the organization. Plus, it’s easily accessible by bus, bike, car, or light rail.
