Ahead of launching Ōmcare LLC, Anser Innovation recently added two healthcare veterans as to its roster: Laurie Knutson as president and Wendy Wiesman as VP of marketing and customer experience. Ōmcare also announced Dr. David McLean would be joining its board of directors.
“We’ve been preparing for this development for eight years. I’m energized by the onboarding of these seasoned executives that will lead this new business and product to success,” Lisa Lavin, co-founder and CEO of Anser Innovation said in a statement.
Ōmcare, a health technology company, is focused on extending the reach of caregivers by using IoT technologies. The first product, the Ōmcare Telemed System, is scheduled for commercialization in early 2019. Enabling in-home care, the Telemed system will have an audiovisual interaction component and dispense preloaded medications to a dependent. Initially, the product launch will focus will on eldercare and opiate addiction treatment markets.
Knutson has been active in the healthcare startup community and brings executive experience from a variety of Fortune 500 health and wellness companies. Dr. McLean brings was most recently founder, chairman and CEO of Medication Management Systems. Wiesman was previously senior director of marketing at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Minnesota.
