Minnesota is on track to record its highest-ever number of new business filings
This year could top all others in terms of new business creation in Minnesota. The best year on record so far is 2009, when the state recorded 63,338 new business filings. But this year, with strong numbers like 5,519 in January and 5,548 in April, the state could get close to 64,000.
Secretary of State Mark Ritchie said, "We continue to outpace other states in our region in new business filings on a per capita basis, reflecting the strong business climate for startups here in Minnesota."
