Steve Kalina has been selected as the new executive director of the Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association (MPMA).
He was most recently president of Dynamic Group, where he also held roles that ranged from press operator and quality inspector to project manager and director of sales. His manufacturing experience spans over 20 years and has been focused on business management, operations management, strategic planning, personnel development and quality management systems. Kalina is also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, with two decorated combat tours.
Kalina will lead the association’s new strategic plan, which focuses on solving workforce challenges. “We are endeavoring to become the liaison between our members and educators, lawmakers, government officials, and other workforce agencies,” Tom Chacon, president of MPMA said in a statement. “The three pillars of the new strategic plan – career pathways and opportunities, incumbent skills and development, and government policy and advocacy – will enable the MPMA to provide resources to our members to help them bridge the skills gap.”
Kalina will begin his duties on August 20.
